Textures Video

This video of artist Andy Goldsworthy's outdoor installations is reflective of my overarching concept of manipulating natural forms and materials in a way that makes them the opposite - unnatural. Like the artist's organisation of natural shapes to create beautiful works against the landscape, I hope to arrange these natural forms to create unique architectural spaces.

An example of this notion in my Sketchup model is the creation of the above space, which contains no recti-linear or geometric forms, instead embracing an abstract, free structure.

*Have decided to develop Model 2 because I personally think it has greater potential to be more abstract and architecturally interesting.

Sketchup Update

Have been experimenting with curviloft, curvizard and tools on surface plug-ins on Sketchup. Slowly getting the hang of how to use them effectively.

Tried making one of my staircases using curvizard. Based this staircase off my second section, "flexing".

Studio 1: Sketchup Model Based on Sketch

Here is the sketch I chose to model:

Sketchup Model:

*Still feel like I can't fully express my ideas using Sketchup - unsure how to competently edit and manipulate curved shapes
